Top 10  basic stuff every fresher student must carry while going to a college hostel in India:-

Hey guy's, this blog will help the students who are about to go to the hostel and are going to stay away from home. In the hostel, you are not provided with all the facilities and commodities, therefore, you have to be well prepared.  So the eternal question comes-what all things should I carry? So staying in the hostel can be sometimes adventures so here are the items that you won't want to leave at home.

1) Extension board:


Extension board can be really beneficient many times when you are working on several gadgets at a time and you have only 1 or 2 charging plugs in the room. But my advice is to buy a good quality extension board or else most of the time a cheap extension board gets short-circuit.

2) Rechargeable lamp:















If your hostel is located in an area where load shedding is quite often this item can bail you out of trouble. If your fate is misfortunate that electricity vanishes during exam time only, so this lamp can be a real savior to you. you get this at Dmart or any general store. Please don't forget to carry this thing.

3) Dorm first-aid kit:





If any incident happens at your place you should have the basic first-aid till consulting to a doctor. This dorm first-aid kit should have a cramp bandage, antiseptic spray, oral Benadryl, cough drops,
pain reliever, eye drops, etc. Consult a doctor before preparing a Dorm first-aid kit.

4) Trimmer:



I would prefer you to buy your own trimmer rather than borrowing from others, using other's trimmer can increase the chance of fungal infection. If you want to buy a trimmer, buy this NOVA trimmer it's cheap and also has good quality.

5) Electric kettle or Induction cooktop:

The electric kettle is very helpful for students as it does not require any cooking skills but the only disadvantage of electric kettle is the heating surface gets heated up very quickly and the food sticks to the surface alternate to this you can buy an Induction. The price of electric kettle is less than that of an induction cooktop, it's up to what you want to buy.

6) Iron:




If your hostel has a laundry then there is no issue otherwise buying an iron is a wise choice. During monsoon, it's difficult to dry your clothes so ironing your clothes can help you out. Also during the various event in your college wearing ironed clothes is favorable. You can buy a steam iron or a dry iron will do.

7) Pair of towel:

I am insisting you this point because during monsoon drying is a major issue, so using a pair of towel
is always beneficial.

8) Power Bank :



Buy a power bank of good quality and at least a capacity of 10,000 MAh. If you have an extension board then there is no need of buying a power bank. But portable charging can help you during traveling or if your mobile battery gets low at a place where charging slots are not available.

9) Slippers, bucket mug, broom, coffee mug:

These items may appear funny to you but they are very essential for day to day life. Buy a pair of slippers rather than opting for sandals because slippers are very convenient to wear in hostels. While going for the hostel if possible, carry a bucket, mug, broom from home the reason being if you buy these items from the nearby place near the hostel where most of the students are going to buy,all of them will have the same kind of bucket, mug, broom so the chance of getting these items mixed chance is very high. Also,the shopkeeper will charge you more than MRP.

10) Perfume:



Buying a good quality perfume is advisable, you will need most of the time. Getting up early in the morning is the biggest challenge in the hostel and over that taking a bath can be sometimes challenging so rather than going to college without taking a bath spraying the perfume can help you.
